San Diego Comic Con: Thor Ragnarok (2017)

July 22, 2016:

The cast of Thor: Ragnarok flew straight from filming reshoots in Atlanta to San Diego Comic Con so you'll have to forgive them for needing to rest up a little bit first. (Tom once said that the key to surviving Comic Con was to get plenty of sleep beforehand - the man was just following his own advice)

The Thor: Ragnarok panel included Kevin Feige, Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, and Rachel House. This was Tom's FIFTH year at SDCC (2010, 2013, 2015, and 2016). Tom on what Loki has been up to since we last saw him: Loki is on the throne of Asgard pretending to be Odin, so Thor comes home and things are a little different in Asgard. Loki has directed most of his energies into narcissistic self-glorification, not so much time on good governance. But Ragnarok is coming and Loki's allegiances have always been slightly unpredictable, and he's still the God of Mischief. What his part is in all of that you'll just have to wait and see.

Mark spent the majority of the panel taking pictures of the other actors. Afterwards, Mark posted when your friends are kind of a big deal

After the panel, Chadwick Boseman joined Tom, Chris, and Mark to introduce new footage from Avengers: Infinity War.

Finally, the casts of Thor: Ragnarok and The Black Panther posed for a Marvel Family Photo with the Hollywood Reporter.

Fashion:

Tom Hiddleston wore his standard casual outfit consisting of a Burberry Merino Wool Crewneck sweater, Jbrand Tyler JeansAquatalia Ace boots, and a Tissot watch. The real fashion star was director, Taika Waititi, who wore his now iconic Pineapple outfit from Wallpapr

San Diego Comic Con: Thor (2010)

July 24, 2010:

San Diego Comic Con fans were introduced to two relatively unknown actors, Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth. Tom and Chris were there to promote their new MCU franchise Thor which had just finished filming and wouldn't premiere for another 9 months. Prior to the panel, they hosted in a signing at the Marvel booth.

The Thor panel included Kevin Feige, Kenneth Branagh, Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Tom Hiddleston, and Clark Gregg. Tom on playing Loki: the great challenge for me was that he is both the agent of chaos and also the damaged younger brother... It was terrific to combine the mischief and the relish, and the misrule and the anarchy that he creates with a truthful psychological damage...

Cast photoshoot:

Interview with Fandango:  One of the main tropes, themes of the film is brotherhood and what brotherhood means... I wanted to develop a different (fighting) style to Chris as Thor because he's so strong. If Thor is like a rock I wanted Loki to be like the wind - you just can't pin him down..

Tom finished up his day at the Syfy - Entertainment Weekly party.

Fashion:

Tom Hiddleston wore his standard casual outfit for this time period of an Armani blazer, Intimissimi shirt, Armani Jeans leather pants, and Ariat roper boots (which he was actually gifted while working on Thor).

GQ: What's the best thing in your wardrobe at the moment?
Tom Hiddleston: I do like my cowboy boots. They were given to me by real cowboys in California when I was learning how to ride. Because I spent two weeks with their horses, when I left they said [adopts western tone] "Tom we reckon you're about ready for your first pair of Ariat's. They're boots that'll see you through about 20 years if you look after 'em, 25 if you don't." These have seen all weathers.

San Diego Comic Con: Crimson Peak (2015)

July 11, 2015:

Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, and Guillermo brought Legendary's Crimson Peak to San Diego Comic Con. This was Tom's third year at SDCC but the first time he was there for a role other than Loki.

working the press line and interviews like a pro...

Prior to the panel Legendary hosted a signing with Tom, Jessica, Mia, and Guillermo.

The Legendary panel included the casts of Krampus, Crimson Peak, and Warcraft.

During the panel Tom talked about how the set built for Crimson Peak was "jawdropping", "breathtaking", and the "most extraordinary set (he has) ever seen". Tom talks about working with Guillermo del Toro: "Guillermo has an enormous imagination, and getting to live inside that imagination with all of his detail and rigor and precision was a huge pleasure. And I've never been teased so much on set by another director but I liked it." Also, Tom teases that "the last act of the film is an emotional rollercoaster. It exists at a very intense pitch and we all had to kind of hold hands and battle through it."

The day finished up with the Nerdist Podcast - which is basically just 10 straight minutes of Guillermo teasing Tom - enjoy.

Fashion:

This was a very refreshing break from the black/navy casual outfits or suits we usually see Tom Hiddleston wear. Tom debuted an almost entirely new outfit with a Richard James Linen Blazer, Reiss vneck shirt, and Reiss Bennett chinos. Along with vintage shoes first seen in a photoshoot with Matthias Vriens McGrath.

The Richard James Blazer was such a good look, Benedict Cumberbatch wore the same one to San Diego Comic Con the next year.
